I also know the challenges of teachers feeling like they're not being heard, and being assigned to tackle additional paperwork and new initiatives (to only be in effect for a semester or two). 

I understand that the additional tasks and job duties assigned by higher-ups may often take away from planning, and the time needed to work with struggling students or build rapport for students to succeed. 

I have been in your shoes as a principal, I’ve taught classes often for new and experienced teachers that needed improvement in reaching our students. 

I've been recognized at the national, state, and local levels recognized as Principal of the Year. 

I stepped into the role of a high school principal and there had been seven principals in 3 years prior to my arrival. 

l went on to complete four years at a very challenging High School. Our campus received several campus Awards including National Excellence in Urban Education for two years in a row, National Parent-Teacher Association School of Excellence, and also recognized as a Texas Education Agency explementary campus four years in a row. We also earned the distinction as a Texas stem campus and we kept that designation for three years.
